Comparison Between Python and Lua in Gaming Industry

The aim of this project was to investigate two of the most commonly used scripting languages: Python and Lua. It seeked uses of these languages within Games Development and compared and contrasted the facilities within each language. The main aim of the project was to investigate on the Languages used for game development considering mainly LUA and PYTHON and to understand flaws and plus points of both. It was supported with small two Tic-Tac-Toe prototypes created using each language.


The deliverable for this project were,
1) A set of (small) prototype games, illustrating features of game development in Lua and Python
2) A set of guidelines identifying the suitability of Lua/Python for game development.

It was then published as book by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing in Feb 2013.
